Dorcas A. Stevens (she/her) is a British-Nigerian writer. She first published her poetry in an anthology at a plucky 9 years old and in 2020 she published her first ever novel!

Her writing has been performed at theatres The Roundhouse in ‘Hive City Legacy’, the Young Vic in ‘SE1’ as part of their Ambassador programme and at Churchill Theatre Bromley. Her plays have been shortlisted for the Papatango New Writing Prize and for the Royal Court’s Lynn Award. And her coming-of-age TV Comedy ‘FOR THE CULTURE’ featured on BBC Radio London and in Hackney Gazette.

Her writing has been described as compelling, ambitious, brilliantly authentic and humorous and typically explores contrasting cultures and expanding representations of womanhood. She is being mentored by Charlie Hyland (Writer, Producer and Digital Commissioner at Channel 4).
